Women’s Wellness

Looking good is a function of feeling good. At SUBTLchanges®, the solutions we offer for graceful aging go far beyond clinical skin rejuvenation. Proper diet, exercise and rest are important steps toward maximizing your health and well-being. But sometimes even these practices fall short.

That’s where our women’s wellness programs come in. Uncomfortable, chronic symptoms like anxiety, fatigue and mental fuzziness can indicate something is going on at the systemic level. Dr. Rappaport’s Advanced Practice Nurse Deborah Hartman will work with you to pinpoint the underlying cause of your symptoms, whether it is hormonal imbalance, silent inflammation, metabolic syndrome or compromised vitamin absorption.

Women’s wellness programs offer the following benefits:

  • Ability to both look and feel your best at every stage of life
  • Comprehensive evaluation of your current health status to identify underlying problems
  • Counseling in diet, exercise and other elements that work together to produce optimal health and wellness
  • Restored energy and balance that may be currently lacking and affecting your quality of life

Options in Women’s Wellness Programs
In addition to evaluating hormone levels, nutritional deficiencies and metabolic function, Deborah offers ALCAT allergy testing to determine whether food sensitivities might be causing some or all of your symptoms. ALCAT stands for Antigen Leukocyte Cellular Antibody Test. This test has been offered on six continents for more than 20 years. ALCAT is unlike standard allergy tests because it measures the reactivity of your white blood cells.

ALCAT testing measures your sensitivity to 200 different types of foods, as well as food additive and other substances. The test also shows whether you have a reaction to candida albicans (yeast) and if you are sensitive to gluten, or to casein and whey, which are milk proteins. By identifying the foods causing your symptoms, you can adjust your diet to eliminate those symptoms and enjoy an improved state of wellness.

How does Women’s Wellness Work?
Your consultation with Deborah will include an in-depth questionnaire and review of your health history. Complete blood work will be done. When the results are returned, you will meet with Deborah to discuss the best options available to you to improve any areas of deficiency. This visit typically last 2 to 3 hours. You will leave with a comprehensive plan to follow that will bring you the energy and vitality you deserve. Taking these proactive steps will not only make you feel better, but can help discourage symptoms from developing into chronic disease.

At the Houston Center for Plastic Surgery, Deborah Hartman serves as Dr. Rappaport’s Advanced Practice Nurse, but her role is not singular in nature. With over 20 years of experience in women’s healthcare issues, Deborah is also a Certified Menopause Practitioner and a Certified Zone (Diet) Specialist. She is uniquely qualified to help our patients recapture the feeling of energy and balance they may have thought was gone forever.
