Protruding ears have a profound psychological effect on children and adults alike. It is never to late to correct earst the are not in alignment with one's facial features.

Who is a candidate?

Otoplasty is best performed prior to kindergarten to prevent teasing by other children, but this procedure can be performed at any age.

How is it done?

Otoplasyty is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The basis of the procedure is the correction of the fold of the ear rim and reduction of the angle of the ear as it protrudes from the side of the head.

Recuperation

A molded soft compression dressing is worn for one week followed by a headband for another five weeks. Activities should be restricted to avoid contact injury to the ears.
